Generational Karma: The Patterns You Inherited, Not Created

20 August 2026

Coaching, therapy and karma healing often get lumped together as “personal growth work,” but they operate on genuinely different layers — and knowing the difference can save you years of working on the wrong level of the problem.

Coaching: strategy for where you’re going

Coaching works with your conscious mind on goals, accountability and strategy. It’s excellent at helping you take action, build a plan and move forward — as long as nothing underneath is actively working against the plan. When the same obstacle keeps derailing otherwise sound strategies, coaching alone tends to hit a ceiling.

Therapy: processing what already happened

Therapy works with the conscious and subconscious mind to process, understand and cope with past experiences. It’s essential for emotional processing and mental health — and it’s not a substitute for karma healing, nor is karma healing a substitute for it. They address different layers and can support each other.

Karma healing: clearing the root

Karma healing works underneath both — with the unconscious karmic contracts, generational patterns and energy imprints that quietly shape decisions before you’re consciously aware of them. This is the layer that explains why some patterns survive years of good coaching and honest therapy: the strategy and the processing were both working correctly, but the root underneath was never addressed.

This is the exact idea behind The Healing Wiz’s core belief — we don’t coach, we heal. It isn’t a claim that coaching or therapy don’t work. It’s a recognition that some patterns live at a different layer entirely.

Do you need all three?

Not necessarily, and not all at once. But if you’ve done real coaching and real therapy and a specific pattern is still running your life, that’s usually the clearest sign the root you’re looking for is karmic. The Signature Healing Paths page walks through where to start, whether that’s a first workshop or a private 1:1 intensive.
